Digital

digital system is a data technology that uses discrete (discontinuous) values. By contrast, non-digital (or analog)system information using a continuous function. Although digital representations are discrete, the information represented can be either discrete, such as numbers and letters or continuous, such as sounds, images, and other measurements.
The word digital comes from the same source as the word digit and digitus (theLatin word for finger), as fingers are used for discrete counting. It is the most commonly used in computing and electronics, especially where real-world information is converted to binary numeric form as in digital audio and digital photography.

It is usually  referred with
1. Digital electronics represent signals by discrete bands of analog levels, rather than by a continuous range. All levels within a band represent the same signal state. Relatively small changes to the analog signal levels due to manufacturing tolerance, signal attenuation, or parasitic noise do not leave the discrete envelope, and as a result are ignored by signal state sensing circuitry.
In most cases, the number of these states is two, and two voltage bands represent them: one near a reference value (typically termed as "ground" or zero volts) and a value near the supply voltage, corresponding to the "false" ("0") and "true" ("1") values of the domain respectively.
Digital techniques are useful because it is easier to get an electronic device to switch into one of a number of known states than to accurately reproduce a continuous range of values.
2.Digital media is a form of electronic media where data are stored in digital (as opposed to analog) form. It can refer to the technical aspect of storage and transmission (e.g. hard disk drives or computer networking) of information or to the "end product", such as digital video, augmented reality, digital signage, or digital art.
Florida's digital media industry association, Digital Media Alliance Florida, defines digital media as "the creative convergence of digital arts, science, technology, and business for human expression, communication, social interaction, and education".
There is a rich history of non-binary digital media, computers, and their rise to prominence over the last couple of decades.
